Effect of Biking on Physical health

There have been a lot of studies which have been based on the effects cycling has on the physical health of a person. One of the major effects is that those who cycle regularly live longer than those who do not. The risk of mortality decreases by around forty percent for those people who cycle for around three hours every week.

Those people who are older benefit more as compared to those who are younger. Another effect on the physical health is that those who cycle have a lesser chance of getting a heart attack or a stroke, and their cholesterol level is also lower as compared to those who do not cycle. The LDL cholesterol, which is the bad cholesterol decreases, and HDL, which is the good cholesterol, increases to a significant extent. When people bike, the capacity that they have of doing physical work increases, and there is also a lot of improvement in their aerobic fitness.

There are some who say that there a number of risks which biking has on the physical health of a person. But the truth of the matter is that even though there are a number of risks which are related to biking, such as accidents, there a lot of benefits which outweigh these risks. These benefits include less risk of obesity and heart diseases, as well as lower blood pressure and lower levels of cholesterol.
